"The Coronation of King Hummingbird" is a 24" x 24" mixed media painting with a lot of history and texture. It contains drawing, pencil lines, collage, gold leaf, maps, and graphic transfers in overlapping loose grids evoking memory and music. It is inspired by a children's book in which music brings peace around the world. I completed this just as we were entering a time of unrest in the begining of 2020.
 
The Coronation of King Hummingbird was part of an international invitational art show in 2021, Connections, sponsored by ART 55.
