An original 12" x 12" mixed media painting utilizing collage, acrylic, and wax, Pohoiki ships unframed on a wooden panel.
 
Now covered in lava from the most recent eruption, Pohoiki was a favorite spot for surfing and fishing on the east side of the Big Island. I went there many times. I was interensted  the shallow rocky areas as they transition to the deep ocean. The distressed surface of the painting conveys the feeling of a memory. Acrylic and cold wax.
